SLO Green Build's Appropriate Technology group offers educational presentations, demonstrations, and educational materials on how to utilize appropriate technology (from composting toilets to graywater systems and beyond) to sustain a society of finite resources at human scale – while considering economy, ecology, and equity.
SLO Green Build's Appropriate Technology is part of the San Luis Obispo Coalition of Appropriate Technology (SLOCOAT), which includes SLO Green Build, the San Luis Bay Chapter of the Surfrider Foundation, and the Santa Lucia Chapter of the Sierra Club. SLOCOAT was organized
in July of 2007.

- 2009 - Completion of the Graywater Manual
- September 2008- Three local events with
Brad Lancaster on Rainwater Harvesting and development of a green paper
